Don Bosco's day in Barakaldo

We stopped the classes at midday the day before Don Bosco's fair. There were some sport competitions (mostly, basketball and football) and other activities like "Sing Star", draughts, chess, cards, etc. Then, the ESO (Gymnasium) attended the special show in the teather, enjoying the performances, humor sketches, dances and songs played by the students. In short, two hours laughing and feeling a wonderful "salesian" atmosphere amongst us, namely, "Sanctity consists. in being cheerful and joyfull always", as Don Bosco said.

On 31 January, the whole ESO (Gimnajzum) and BACHILLERATO (Liceum) attended the Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m. We could pray, sing and remember our father Don Bosco. The celebration focused on the fact of being daring in life. The confidence in our friends, in the people who love us, is also important for achieving our final goals, no matter the difficulties we have to face with; moreover, the confidence in God, through Don Bosco's style. We also sang the Hebrew song "Hebenu shalom alechem" שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם‎ הבאנו , but in an original way, by adding the Polish lyric: Pokój niech będzie z tobą. You should have seen us singing it!! It was a way of being with you, our Polish friends...

Don Bosco's day in Ostrów-Wielkopolski

Before 31 January all junior high school classes had to make the bookmarks showing saints and blessed Salesians and their mottos. On 31 January, there were 9 short plays showing the lives of saint and blessed Salesians such as Dominic Savio, Laura Vicuna, Andrea Beltrami, Ceferino Namuncura, August Czartoryski (Polish), Teresa Valse Pantellini, Alexandrina da Costa, Eusebia Palomino and five boys from Don Bosco Oratorio from Poznań (Wielkopolska Region). Next there was another play that showed the role of "words" in our lives (various kind of words e.g written, sung, shouted, words giving hope etc.). Finally, at 12 p.m. there was a Holy Mass.

As for our Comenius activites, on 31 January there was the competition about Spanish-speaking countries. There were 5-people-teams from each class. The questions were divided into 3 levels of difficulty (1 point, 2 points, 3 points). Furthermore, the students and teachers could taste Spanish snacks prepared by other students. Moreover, from 27 January there has been an exhibition of posters showing Spanish-speaking countries in the school corridor next to Comenius Corner. On the board there is the news and some information mostly about Barakaldo and Bilbao.

Let's know our schools!

Amongst the different activities of our project, there is one based on computer presentations in order to show creatively both schools. It's time to see them and to know a bit more about our same viewpoints. Remember that, beyond the differences, there are many, many common things between our two schools!

Thank you very much to the students who have prepared these presentations. Saioa Laderas and Jaione Santurtún did their best!
