Let's plant a tree for peace in Barakaldo!

As we published in a older thread, our Polish friends planted in October, 2014 the "son" of the Gernika Oak Tree in Ostrów-Wielkopolski.

Music connects nations

This activity has been the last one related to our project. The music has been a very important feature of it and, apart from the different concerts and festivals taking place during the visits, this quiz on famous Polish and Spanish composers has summarized  -so to speak- the great connection between two of us. Enclosed are the files including the information used by each group in the competition, as well as the links with two songs -Polish students sing in Spanish and the latter, in Polish- which have also become a sort of anthem for all of us.

Oliwia Glubiak's memories

First I want to say thank you to all Comenius teachers, my Maider and of course all Comenius group.
I miss you all so much!

That week in January was amazing! We spent a lot of time together. We talked a lot and laughed. At school we were learning to sing carols, Comenius anthem and dances. It was an amazing experience. After school we went ice-skating, ate pizza and went to a basketball match. In Kraków, Wieliczka and Oświęcim we spent wonderful time. We are one big family. Thank you for the best experience in my life. I will never forget you. But it’s not the end! See you soon my friends!

Julia Makowska’s memories

First I want to thank Comenius teachers as well as all Comenius group. And I want to thank you - Raquel for being so kind and helpful. You're like my sister!

Now a few words about the exchange. I really liked ice skating. It was something new for us. But we became professionals. We had a lot of fun. We were learning dances, singing Comenius anthem and Christmas carols. It was fantastic - just being together because we are the family - big Comenius family. That was such an amazing experience. Thank you for making it unforgettable for all my life and... see you soon :)

Julia Śmiechowska remembers

I'm very glad that I could take part in Comenius project. I have met many people. I won't forget them. First I should say “thank you” to our teachers: Mrs Zosia, Ms Magda, Mrs Ewelina, Óscar and Sergio.

Thank you all my friends!

This week was amazing. I don’t even know what I should write. I loved speaking with you, writing with you, spending time with you - being just next to you! I loved the time we spent in Kraków together. Sightseeing Kraków, Wieliczka and Oświęcim was wonderful.

I think that it was a very special experience even for me, because I have never been to Wieliczka. This week was full of emotions … from the first day in Poznań, to the last day. We were crying and standing there, on the airport ‘till the end.

We have to remember that we are not individuals. We are all part of our Comenius group. It’s not the end. We will always wait for each other. See you soon.

Philosophy lesson by Iwona Śmiechowska

The philosophy lesson designed by Miss Iwona Śmiechowska dealt with the process of getting to the core of ourselves. Undoubtedly the latter is said to be one of the most important goals of our whole life. Iwona introduced the activity by means of poems and an original comparison: the onion and its structure as a good example to depict the need of finding out your own convictions and personality.

Christmas Concert

Singing carols was an important activity deployed during this fourth meeting taking place in Poland in January. It was funny to share our traditional songs and everyone was more than happy singing them. Basque, Polish and Spanish carols were rehearsed in the morning and later, performed in the Christmas Concert. After the concert, we could taste traditional Basque and Polish Christmas meals too.

Sergio and his stay in Ostrów

Some days ago, we were saying goodbye to each other in Poznan. We had lived one of the best weeks of our lives. For me everything has been a wonderful experience. Beginning with the take-off in Loiu airport. It was early in the morning, I was nervous, we were visiting a new country. We arrived in Poznan, our luggage was coming, we all were really excited to know that behind a door we would be able to see our friends again. It was a very happy moment. Our families took us to see Poznan.

Auschwitz-Oświęcim 70 years ago

Today we remember and commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. It's also time to remember one of the most meaningful moments lived during our second meeting in Poland. Comenius students could visit the two concentration camps on 12 January 2015.
