Marta Franka and her memories about Barakaldo

We've just arrived from our trip to the Basque Country. Generally, I must say that the experience was amazing. We especially loved San Sebastian, which combines the sea and the mountains in one place. Despite the rain, we had a very good time there. On the first day we visited Baracaldo, the city where we were staying, and we had a meeting with the mayor. One day we also went to Guernica to see the city and its museum. There we saw touching films about the civil war and a famous painting by Pablo Picasso.

There was also a visit to Loyola ( the place where Ignatio Loyola was born) with the cathedral. We saw his house and the House of the Jesuits. And of course we went to the capital of the Basque Country- Bilbao and we saw there Deusto University and Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art. Both of them made on me a very big impression. In Deusto we met a girl from Poland who told us something about the University. Guggenheim Museum of Modern art was designed by Frank O'Gehry and opened in 1997. It is famous for the characteristic architectural twists. After that we went to Casco Viejo and we saw there Begonia's Basilica. But before that we had to climb the 308 steps. But it was worth it , because Begonia Basilica is huge and very beautiful. It was really impressive inside.

It's also worth mentioning that my host family took me to a basketball match and football match in Bilbao. The basketball match was very exciting - Bilbao was in the lead all the time and it finally won. The sports hall was really huge and stunning. I had been looking forward to that football match for a long time and I was really excited when we finally went there. The stadium was massive and the atmosphere at the event was phenomenal. Eventually Bilbao won 4-0. In conclusion, I loved my stay in Spain tremendously. I spent a fantastic time there, I met interesting new people and experienced unforgettable moments.
