Mikołaj Szcześniak's impressions

I am the lucky winner because two days before the flight I got a suprise ! My english teacher told me that I can go to Spain! I could never imagine what would happen there!
On the first day, even Polish people were some kind of shy, you could feel it in air, on this day we were flying to Barakaldo. During the next days we ( Spanish and Polish people ) were integrating. We were going on trips, and did together many many other things like bowling or going for pizza. The people were very nice, the Spanish families really took care of us. Many new diets were a good experience to us and the new culture as well.

One interesting fact: I can tell you about carnival that we were celebrating the last Saturday. At night we went out and met other people basically from Comenius and we were in disguise walking through the streets. Everywhere was so loud and trust me, there were so many people, that you could get lost if you were walking too far away from your group alone. We were having so much fun during these 12 days but the time was running low and we had to pack.

You have to trust me again, everyone, almost everyone was sad, and we were crying because of a " sudden " departure. During our last meeting on the airport we tried, I tried to pretend that everything is ok, but inside I was like a jelly, so sad that I have to leave them and Barakaldo. The flight was awesome, I will always say that I love the airport in Frankfurt even though we had to spend there six hours waiting for the next flight but especially I like Lufthansa airlines. Everything was organized so professionally. We almost slept during the journey home and I couldn't stand when the bus driver in Katowice turned on the radio very loud... God, why? He I got so angry with him because my head was still in the clouds.

We arrived to school about 3:00 am. Even after 2 weeks I love that people i met and I miss them so much.

22nd February by Maria Nowicka

It was Sunday, the 22nd of February. The weather was fantastic - the beautiful sun and the soft wind. I woke up late, about 9.00, I dressed up and had breakfast. We had to hurry, because we had a meeting in the church. The Masses in the Basque Country are different as the people sing a lot. After that, we met together at the little repast.

Then, Itxaso, my Spanish friend and her mum took me on a trip where I met Itxaso's parents’ friends. We climbed the little mountain with a rope. We admired the landscapes of the ocean, San Sebastian and Barakaldo. After visiting the museum of carbon we were hungry, so we went to restaurant to eat lunch. We ate shrimps from one plate all together. Then we went back to Barakaldo.

But it's not the end of the day!

All family and friends met together at big, Spanish dinner! We spent few hours at the table, I think. What a fantastic experience! After that, Itxaso's uncle showed me his vinyl collection and money collection (from all over the world!). Watching coins and bank notes and telling stories about traveling took us 2 hours, so when we ended, I had nothing to do - just to go to bed after another wonderful day that I won't forget.

Marta Franka and her memories about Barakaldo

We've just arrived from our trip to the Basque Country. Generally, I must say that the experience was amazing. We especially loved San Sebastian, which combines the sea and the mountains in one place. Despite the rain, we had a very good time there. On the first day we visited Baracaldo, the city where we were staying, and we had a meeting with the mayor. One day we also went to Guernica to see the city and its museum. There we saw touching films about the civil war and a famous painting by Pablo Picasso.

One day in Bilbao, by Adrianna Chmura

It was Thursday, 27th February. The weather was rainy, as usual in winter in Basque Country. We were going to visit Guggenheim Museum and Deusto University. Guggenheim was one of the best places which we have seen in Spain, before this visit I thought that museums are boring- no way! In this museum we could go everywhere, watch work of art, touch them and just have fun.
