"On Thursday, the 24th of October visitors came to our school from partner school in Barakaldo in Spain. On Friday, the junior high and high school students greeted them during "Good morning". At the beginning, the students presented Polish costumes and folk dances. Then they played the trumpet song and a vocal-instrumental song. Teachers welcomed us and told about themselves in English and Spanish language. They also displayed pictures of the tours of students from Barakaldo.
Mr. Sergio Martin led an interesting lesson in the Euskera language, in which we could learn basic phrases in this the Basque language. We learned how to introduce yourself, and say, for example, what is the day of the week. Mr. Sergio Martin asked us about something, and we had to answer correctly. We got cards with the expressions, stored in three languages: Euskera, Spanish and English. At the end we heard a hymn of a football club Athletic Bilbao and the song that is liked by the Basque students.
In the afternoon, Mr. Oscar Gonzalez Lopez, author of nine books of war, led the history lesson about the invasion of Normandy and about his own book. On Saturday, the guests went to Auschwitz Museum and to Jasna Gora. On Monday, during "Good morning", the teacher of Spain thanked for hospitality and handed gifts.
I think that this visit was a good idea and it will help develop cooperation between our school and the partner school in Barakaldo. Guests who visited us are very friendly and nice. They are able to make contact with young people. I really liked the encounter by the Basque teachers and I hope they will visit us in the future".
